GAA Camp U14 League – Division 1 Athlone: 5-15 St Loman’s: 1-00 Well done to our U14 side on their second outing in the U14 Westmeath League. A fantastic display from the throw-in set the tone for the evening. Played on the all-weather pitch in St Lomans, Athlone settled well and had 1-5 on the board after 14 minutes, Lomans hit back with a goal but this would prove to be their only score of the game with a fantastic performance from all our defensive lines. Playing with a strong breeze in the first half Athlone went in leading 3-11 to 1-0 at half time. Against the elements in the second half, conditions proved more difficult but a goal inside the first 10 minutes put the lads on course for a superb victory. All 19 players made a great impact on the game and contributed to a very worthy victory. Up next are Coralstown/Kinnegad on Thursday 4th April at 6.30pm in Pairc Chiarain. The squad and management would also like to wish team member Kyle Greene a speedy recovery following surgery after breaking a finger in a recent schools basketball game. |
