Results of Captains John Cummins prize. U12 Football Our U12 footballers played Maryland-Tang in a pulsating local Derby on Tuesday evening last. Three first half goals had Athlone leading at the interval on a scoreline of 3-00 to 0-08. Maryland up the tempo in the second half and took the lead midway through the half. However Athlone did not give in and a fine goal from Adam Casey put them back in the driving seat with a few minutes to play. However deep in injury time Maryland-Tang centre back stormed up the field to stick the ball to the back of the net and level matters. From the resulting kickout the ref blew it up. A super display from this bunch of players with noticeable performances from Christian O’Brien, Shane Killian, Jack Larkin and Adam Casey. Well done to all players who took part on the evening. U14 Leinster Feile Pairc Chiarian hosted and participated in an U14 Leinster Feile Blitz on Saturday. Teams who participated on the day were Sarsfields and Skerries Harps from Dublin, Killoe from Longford and our close neighbours Tubberclair. A feast of football was on show for the afternoon with Skerries Harps deservedly coming out on top with 5 wins from 5. Well done to everyone who helped out on what proved a very successful day in the club. A big thanks also to all the parents who supplied a great selection of food for all the visiting teams, it was greatly appreciated. Thanks as always to Padraig Devaney, Photographer - see Athlone GAA Official facebook page for photos. Kellogs Cul Camps 22-26th July in Athlone GAA Have your registered?
